Based on its well thought out and remarkably comprehensive design, the Z-TONE DI is undoubtedly another product of IK Multimedia's years of experience when it comes to bass and guitar signal chains. While it may be specifically made for guitars and basses, the Z-TONE DI also works just fine with keyboards and synthesizers, and distinguishes itself with high-quality components and the offering of a broad range of tonal possibilities, varying from extremely clean and transparent to warm and harmonic. A Handful of Intuitive Controls

IK Multimedia have managed to wrap the extensive sound options of the Z-TONE DI up into a handful of intuitive controls. First of all, the two switches on front: one toggles between active and passive pickups and doesn't require any further explanation, while the other toggles between nicely warm JFET sound and an as-pure-as-possible sound. In between these switches sits the Z-Tone control, which effectively determines the impedance, and can be experimented with to alter the sound of your guitar into something more tight and defined or something fat and forceful.
